What is Hypercholesterolemia?
Hypercholesterolemia=high cholesterol. Where there is too much cholesterol, heart diseases and other health problems may occur.
According to a study in 2019, 4 out of 10 people in Malaysia or eight million adults have high cholesterol (38.1%). 1 out of 4 of them are not aware of their condition.

Usually no symptom. If the level is extremely high, fatty bumps on skin or greyish-white circles on the eyes may be seen.

•Fatty fish (salmon, sardine, mackerel)
•Dark chocolate
•Green tea
•Nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, pistachios)
•Fruits & vegetables
Food to Avoid
•Butter and margarine.
•Fried food
•Egg yolk
•Cream cheese
Lifestyle Modifications
•Reduce salt intake to less than 2g of sodium per day.
•Limit the amount of animal fats and take more good fats.
•Have at least 8 hours of sleep.
•Moderate intensity aerobic exercise of at least 150 minutes/week.
•Quit smoking.
•Check-up regularly every 3 months.
