What is Hyperthyroidism?
Hyperthyroidism is a condition of overactive thyroid causing excess secretion of thyroid hormones.
A low TSH reading of <0.5mU/L with high T3 & T4 indicates hyperthyroidism.
The prevalence of hyperthyroidism in Malaysia is 3.4%. Females were found to have a higher prevalence of thyroid function, 5-8 times more likely than their male counterparts.

•Iodine-rich food (iodized salt, fish, shellfish)

•Caffeine
Lifestyle Modifications
•Exercise regularly (150 minutes/week)
•Compliant to thyroid medications
•Do regular thyroid neck check
•Manage stress
•Practise good sleeping habit
